To this end we have developed a unique three way cross containing a large proportion of Duroc. The Duroc Breed originated in Spain and Portugal but most of its development has taken place in the United States.
It was first recorded in 1823 by Isaac Fink of Saratoga County and named Duroc after a famous trotting stallion. The breed is also known as the Black Angus of Pork because of its increased intramuscular fat or marbling.
The meat is slightly darker in colour and higher in ph and has significantly reduced Drip Loss. These three attributes combine to consistently give us Tasty,Tender and Succulent Chestnut Pork.
